DESIGN Abisko is the result of a collaboration between Eumar Santhenica and Swedish Designer Johan Kauppi together with architect Lars Sundström, representing design firm We Think, from Gotheburg, Sweden. The idea of Abisko was born in a project in Kiruna, at the very north of Sweden, while working with a design and architecture project. Johan and Lars wanted to catch the freedom of mountain springs in the area and bring it into architecture. The idea was to not use tubes and not having any extra parts at all more than needed. The design should allow free and creative usage compare to traditional basins. Eumar is a leading producer of basins, and well renomed for beeing able to take challenges with custom design. Eumar was contacted very early in the process, and with open minds a creative cooperation was started. The result is Abisko washbasin, wich intended both for private market and public contexts as hotels or spas.
